\n.\u2026on collaborating with artist Joshua King and his THAT THEY MAY studio on The Line Project, a public art work honoring cancer survivors that’s coming to downtown Dallas.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Later this spring, an inspiring work of public art is going up in downtown Dallas, honoring cancer survivors from its placement above the Cancer Survivors\u2019 Plaza<\/strong>. The installation\u2014originally conceived by artist and Aurora<\/strong> co-founder Joshua King<\/strong> in 2016\u2014tells the deeply personal stories of four cancer survivors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Called The Line Project<\/strong>, <\/em>the artwork will be displayed on the northbound skybridge crossing Pearl Street, overlooking the plaza. The work <\/span>will depict “the life-changing journeys of cancer survivors, capturing their struggles and triumphs through a dynamic timeline.” Serving as a vibrant tribute, color and design will be used to illustrate the resilience of those who have faced cancer.<\/p>\n

The 116-foot artwork uses color to represent different types of cancer, visually reinforcing the importance of awareness and solidarity. Each “turn” in the artwork represents a pivotal moment in a survivor\u2019s journey, transforming the skybridge over Pearl Street into “a striking visual narrative of strength and perseverance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

SpeedPro Irving<\/strong>, a leader in large-format printing and visual solutions, is collaborating on the project with King’s THAT THEY MAY<\/a> artist studio for the public art installation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis installation not only showcases the powerful journeys of cancer survivors but also transforms a pedestrian bridge into a meaningful and reflective public space,” SpeedPro Irving owner David Ostermann<\/strong> said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The project is also sponsored and supported by Inspire Art Dallas, Downtown Dallas Inc., The Dallas Office of Arts & Culture, Baylor Scott & White Sammons Cancer Center<\/strong>, and Plaza of the Americas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The artwork will get public unveiling and grand opening will during Dallas Arts Month on\u00a0 Thursday, April 24th at 4 p.m. in\u00a0Celebration of Life Park<\/strong> at 600 North Pearl Street. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
